OMA is dedicated to providing safe and effective flexibility training that is accessible to all ages and abilities. Nani takes a wholistic approach to training that embraces the innate intelligence of the human body. The body has evolved brilliant processes and responses to ensure it’s survival and wellbeing. By understanding and working with the body’s own language, we can cultivate a healthy and effective flexibility practice.

Nani teaches a progressive method of stretching that pays particular attention to alignment, strength support and balance in order to ensure longevity. This method helps prevent injuries, reduce stress and improve performance, both in circus arts, dance, gymnastics, sports, etc. and in everyday life.

Nani Ola

Nani has nurtured a lifelong love of performance and movement arts. She holds a BA in Dance & Movement Arts. She danced in the US and Germany, interning at Tanzakatomy Cifwentes in Berlin. At the age of 27, she took her first contortion class and was hooked. Four years of professional training in the San Fransisco Bay Area led her to develop an act on a custom ground apparatus. Nani has performed up and down the west coast and was a finalist in Circus Star USA.

As her practice shifted during the pandemic, Nani realized her body had a growing resistance to training and small injuries were increasingly nagging her. While looking for a more sustainable way to continue practicing her art, she came across the Alixa Flexibility method. At the age of 35, Nani began relearning contortion from the foundation up in order to address her hyper-mobility imbalances and fill in strength, flexibility and skill gaps. This new approach has been transformative physically and emotionally, opening the door to a healthier practice and performance paradigm.

Nani is a Module 5 certified Alixa Flexibility instructor.
